I hear Lesley Riddoch talking about the number of sitting #SNP MSPs (including cabinet ministers) planning to stand down at the next #Holyrood election. What's going on there? Has #ScotGov become a totally toxic workplace? Are they completely demoralised?

Three easy hours that almost didn’t happen. Thought about ditching it to get catch up on reading and some organizing. But a wintry mix descends tomorrow, and it’s been warm enough to melt last month’s snow. Took two hours to clear my head, which let me remember this pastime helped me through a terrible 1st marriage, and it’ll help to get through the next few years. Best to show up healthy and focused.
Now to get in some good trouble.

@JackTheCat The Scots who voted for Labour were well aware that Asset stripping had to be on the cards. All that about Scotland being an equal partner should have been pretty obvious. Where else was Great British Energy going to get the funds to pay the private investors. #PissedOff with those who switched from #snp
MRP POLL ACCURACY
I've been reviewing the various MRP polls to see which one was closest to the actual general election result and #YouGov is the very clear winner.
Difference in number of seats won by a party compared to their final MRP projection:
Labour: -19
Conservatives: +19 
Liberal Democrats: 0
SNP: -11
Reform UK: +2
Plaid Cymru: +1
Greens: +2
The second thing is that all these parties will now tack right. #Labour's right wingers are in the ascendant (falsely) claiming a victory -- and will have to contrast themselves against a group of #Greens and independents to their left.
The less toxic #Tories have disproportionately lost their seats, leaving more extreme Tories; who will seek to reclaim votes from #Reform. The #LibDems will target more ex-Tories. And the #SNP will try to win votes back from Labour.
OK, the first thing to say about #GeneralElectionUK 2024 is this: #Labour lost, and lost badly. They lost, in fact, HALF A MILLION VOTES compared to their 2019 result.
All the major parties, including the #LibDems, lost. Labour just lost less badly than either the #Conservatives or the #SNP.

Allan Faulds, who runs the excellent Ballot Box Scotland website, has commissioned, in cooperation with The Herald, an opinion #poll of #Scotland from #Survation. #Labour are on 37%, #SNP 31%. From 48 seats in 2019, the SNP would be down to 17, with Labour taking twice as many seats as the SNP. But 15 seats are too close to call, including that of Scottish #Conservative leader Douglas Ross.
