Sea day today, and a bit grey and choppy outside, so here's a snap from yesterday in #Casablanca of the Hassan II Mosque instead. After our visit to Rabat we returned to the city our ship was docked at for an evening driving tour of some highlights and the chance for a little bit of shopping. Casablanca and driving are not the best of friends. But, very enjoyable nonetheless. Madeira tomorrow.

It's late evening with the sun somewhere to the left and low down, a sky of darkening blue and layers of patchy before clouds above. We're looking across an open area in front of a mosque. The flooring is bright, clean, patterned marble with a couple of tall arches within square frames of stone set to the left and right of view ahead of us, framing the religious building behind. The mosque is a long, low, large, stone building with a low sloping roof of green, all behind a colonnade of arches around its exterior. Central, and in front, angled so we can see all of one side in shade and another slice of a side lit by the sun on the left, there is a minaret, square-based and very tall; ornately decorated up its length and with a few windows and balconies; topped by a smaller tower and a decorative spire with three globes speared.

Virgin's Resilient Lady is in #Portsmouth today for the first of her cruises from our city. She got in late because of the wind. This is her approaching Portsmouth Point with the Still & West and Spice Island pubs. We know a stupid number of people cruising on her today.

Naturally, this image was shared on FB and the first comment was "My idea of hell" and, really, why? Why be so sadly predictable? Miserable scum. Say nothing and scroll by.

An overcast day with a spit of land jutting out onto flat, grey sea on which there are a number of old buildings, none over three storeys, and two sporting pub names. Behind, and dwarfing them, is a cruise ship, mostly in white but with red trim along its top funnel casings and navigations and communications arrays. Black funnels top it all off.
