the great thing about painters tape is you can put it on anything for any reason.
wanna stick something to something else, but not that hard? painters tape.
have trouble remembering which usb-c at your desk that goes to your computer and which goes to the wall? put some painters tape on one of them so they look different.
tired of losing your wireless headphone's black charging case when it slips from your pocket and falls into a dark corner? make it easier to spot with some bright blue painters tape.
you know that one button you have to press sometimes? the one that's a pain in the ass to find because it's not labeled? make your own label with painters tape.
also, remember that maintenance task for The Thing? the one you need to do regularly, but not so regularly you remember how to do it? put a big swatch of painters tape on The Thing, and write down instructions for future-you to follow.
(if these seem specific, it's because i've done all of them. many times.)
I can relate to this SO MUCH. I even see this in my research interviews - establishing rapport with neurodivergent strangers comes extremely easy. NTs, on the other hand? They're different

#Autistic Spoken Word: Every Clock Is a Handgun

This spoken word on my autistic experience of time contains triggering topics. If you are sensitive to frank discussion of abuse, I created a sensory-friendly audio summary: https://notebooklm.google.com/notebook/30720fb4-dab4-48b9-873f-90ec1ac03b88/audio

I have let myself become unprepared to exist in spaces where self-promotion is necessary.
I have no idea what I have by way of photos to represent myself. I have no words for the projects I'm currently involved with, and I have nothing like an up to date CV or self-descriptive blurbs of any kind.
And naturally, I have 2 different projects I now need various levels of these things for.
And instead of being willing to go find/create these things.. my brain is just thinking of #earlyTMemories
@SmudgeTheInsultCat ugh. Yes, hello, this is me. #ADHDlife
Random question for anyone interested, has anyone read or heard about the hunter-gatherer theory regarding ADHD traits? Recently stumbled upon it and read some into it and it's rather pretty interesting.
Good morning weirdos
I protest against mornings

I've only had this lovely glass water bottle for 2 days, but I feel like it's helping with my #adhd time blindness.
Knowing what an hour FEELS like is helping!
Embodiment is the best way I've found to be more present and work with my #neurodivergence
Some days I've not even brushed my teeth by 2pm, other days I've already sent off three articles and scrubbed the kitchen floor before 9am AND THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN.
Me two weeks ago: "I'm gonna buy two pairs of these nice gloves. I will have a drawer dedicated for storing them, and always keep them there when I am done using them. I will take care of these gloves. "
Me now: "Why do I only have two left gloves? Where the heck are the right ones???"
The ADHD/neurodivergent experience of living life through CRT eyes (visual snow). Thankful that I've been used to it for three decades and that it doesn't seem to cause me too many issues, apparently one person I know gets extreme vertigo and nausea when looking at pinstripe patterns because his is so severe.
Something neurotypicals don’t seem to understand:
The task itself: 15min
Browsing and contemplating the perfect thing to watch/listen to while completing the task: 40min
Mental & logistical prep: 30min
Actually getting started: 10min
Getting sidetracked: 2hrs
Getting back on track: 20min
A fifteen minutes task is never just a fifteen minute task, we’re gonna need a few extra hours or days or weeks
My fellow #neurodivergent folks, are you open about your neurodivergence at work?
Non-Sexual Adult Topic Poll (18+ Only), Positive Curiosity About Neurodivergency
So, something just occurred to me. I know there's an entire fetish about nudism, but outside of sexual reasons. How often do people get into nudism, at home, around sufficiently concealed private property, or at dedicated venues like nudist beaches. Not for sexual gratification or a thrill but purely because of Neurodivergent Needs?
You're allowed to enjoy that in a sexual sense too, but I'm specifically curious how often people embrace nudist elements in their day because it just causes less pain or discomfort. Like for me? It comes and goes but I often cannot stand socks unless they're soft and low-stim, it's the "hugging the skin/friction against hair" sensations that can drive me up a wall or even start to hurt. I don't consider myself a nudist though, frequent as it can be it's usually a lack of clothing at home is just because Executive Dysfunction after showering.
