And some close-up stills of the colorbars, and some con badge art. The top row is 4" ACeP, 4" Spectra, 5" ACeP. Bottom row is 7" ACeP, 7" Spectra (and original picture, if applicable). Both pics are drawn by @jonas ; one's colored pencil, and the other is digital flat shading, which I thought would be a good comparison.

I sure have a lot of #epaper panels… started with the 4" ACeP, but it seemed a little small for a con badge, so I got the 5.7" and 7" ones. 7" was a bit big, but the 5.7 was just right. Recently, I saw that Waveshare and Good Display have eInk Spectra 6 panels that update a lot faster and have better colors. I wasn't sure how the colors would be better though, since the ACeP panels have 7, while the Spectra 6 have 6. They don't have the 5" size though, only 4" and 7", but I got them anyway to see what they're like.

Attached is a comparison video of all the panels. Interestingly, the 7" Spectra 6 actually has 7 colors (orange is the color that's supposed to be missing from the Spectra 6). However, the 4" one is missing orange. And while both Spectra panels refresh faster than the ACeP ones, the 7" is noticeably faster than the 4".

The Watchy arrived today, significantly earlier than the ETA range that was provided!

Rather glad with spending a bit more to get it with a metal case, since it makes the watch feel a bit more premium; it might even be anodised aluminium? I know that E-Ink is renowned for crisp text, but I'm still surprised by how readable the tiniest text is on the watchface it came with (Starfield) without squinting. Can't wait to explore it further, try out various firmwares for it, and perhaps even create watchfaces for it!
