Ik heb alvast enkele extra zonnedauwjes gekweekt om deze lente/zomer te helpen in de strijd tegen die vervelende rouwvliegjes. #drosera #sundew #rouwvliegjes #rouwmuggen #FungusGnats
Took a quick snap of the sundews backlit by the low early light as I was rushing out the door this morning. Turned out ok.

A plant that's appearing in large numbers (hundreds) in places on our property where I've never seen them before are Sundew (Drosera sp.), a carnivorous plant.
I suspect that the above average winter rainfall, and the ensuing boggy ground, has encouraged their appearance.
They’ll soon produce a small, pink flower.
Restje potgrond van vorig jaar gebruikt bij het verspenen. Gevolg: nogal veel rouwmuggen bij m'n paprika- en peperplantjes. Een paar zonnedauwplantjes helpen met de bestrijding.

Friday. Plant day. Something.
More tuberous #Drosera waking up. Picked this Drosera rupicola up as dormant tuber towards the end of fall, and it's finally getting going. Spectacular little plant. #Sundews #CarnivorousPlants #Photography #Macro #Gardening
It feels like everyone who grows these has had a late start this season, but it's finally that tuberous #drosera time of year again.
A couple of views of my D. tubaestylis, the first of my tuberous to get going. Two different plants from the same pot. One smaller specimen, the other flowering size.
Keeping up the insectivorous content- another old photo, from 2020, close up of a couple of types of sundew plant we keep in our porch. The plants grow in sphagnum moss and rainwater. the moss grows very well, so the plants have to keep reaching up to stay in the light

I’ve just been checking hashtags and realised: there is not nearly enough insectivorous plant content on mastodon, I’m going to do my best to help remedy this, but I would appreciate help.
If you have insectivorous plants and you are not sharing photos of them, well, please do.

The Murder Moss is looking a bit rough but it’ll get a cleanup soon.

A chunk of moss living in a bog pot. Several still small sundews (drosera) grow on the edges, as well as some tiny pitcher plant seedlings (sarracenia). The moss has some bits of dried stuff above it as well as the requisite cat hair.
Lift-off.
The #Drosera hookeri I started from seeds this year are nearing the end of their season, and are starting to send up their aerial stems.
I don't expect flowers this year, with the plants still so young, but I've been feeding and fertilizing these like wild, so we'll see what happens.
#Gemmae #Sundew #Drosera #DroseraAdmirabilis #houseplants My favorite sundew is making flowers and making gemmae.
good light today. a couple of views of my #Drosera whittakeri, which died back after I repotted it (tuberous 'dews do not care for that kind of thing) and immediately sent up this fantastic second rosette.
Afternoon, all. Another hot one. I think I might do some #Voluntrove on #Trove later to recover from my awful phone chores.
How’s your day going?
Today’s photo is another #CarnivorousPlant from partner’s collection. This is a Cape Sundew, Drosera capensis. These generally have purple flowers, but partner also has one with no anthocyanin, which has white flowers, and no red colouring in the leaves and blobs. #Drosera #Sundew #GardeningAu
Finally, upgraded our window with bio weapons against flying pests. A tiny Drosera, or sundew, and a Venus flytrap. That one's rather small too but it already grows a flower stem!
They will combine well with newly planted chilies that often have lots of tiny flies in their soil at the start. I only use peat-free planting substrate for them.
Bon appétit Audrey.
