Just discovered ArchiveBox — FOSS, self-hosted internet archiving.

The way the web is going, with the US government redacting and outright erasing historic content, publishers segmenting content by region (and also sometimes redacting/censoring it), and CloudFlare shitting all over everything, I think it's time for me to start my #archiving and #DataHoarding journey.

- I've setup a VNET thick jail on my FreeBSD NAS.
- The jail has its own IP address on my LAN.
- I declared a devfs ruleset to unhide /dev/tun* for the VNET jail.
- I installed Wireguard in the jail.
- I enabled Wireguard with a ProtonVPN configuration.
- I installed qbittorrent-nox and configured it to use the Wireguard interface.

I now have a home ISP-proof qBittorrent setup with which to torrent Anna's Archive.

Amazon will remove the ability to download the ebooks for Kindle at the end of the month. So if you ever close your amazon account, you'll no longer be able to access the books you had bought.

Anybody know anything about spectral analysis of flacs? I found a rip of a CD and even though its has a 100% log file, some spectrals make it look like it could be a lossy master.

I plan to upload this to a private tracker but dont want to get banned lol.

These are the tracks I'm concerned about:
02: There looks to be some blocking across the track, maybe thats just the music though? Looks weird to me
10: I think thats just because its electronic "beep boop" sounding music lol, not sure how else to explain it.
16: I see some blocking in a few places in the track
20: maybe a tiny bit of blocking, but also a weird "ghosting" above 20k?
I provided zooms for 2, 16, and 20, each of 2 seconds long, not sure if thats too short. I didn't provide it for the other ones since the others look fine, I can provide them though.

I can't believe I just purchased a used LTO-4 tape drive along with a DAT72.

I already have a DAT4, and a DAT320 drive.

What is wrong with me!? Is this a midlife crisis?

How do #windows users handle incremental backups?

A friend is asking for help. He doesn't want to use a cloud, just an external HDD. What he did till now is just copy paste everything once every other month and hope that nothing is missing.

Any non-proprietary windows software that I can recommend to him that can handle incremental backups? Encryption would also be nice imo

Is there some kind of file #storage that does delta compression? I'd love to have a file #archive with

• revisions (i.e. changes to files are tracked)
• deduplication (identical files only take up space once)
• deltas (small changes to large files only take up the size of the difference)

Git would cover this, but doesn't work well with TBs of data. Backup software with delta support like Borg or restic can do it too, but have bad UX for tracking file revisions.

It's a a problem if I can fill 12 Tb worth of drives with data?

Сохранённый файл является полной копией страницы с браузера — в неё включены скрипты (JavaScript), авторизация, модификации других расширений. 2. Консольная программа Monolith (https://github.com/Y2Z/monolith#readme). Лучше всего подходит для сохранения статичных сайтов, так как не может самостоятельно выполнять код JavaScript (для этого требуется воспользоваться внешним браузером), а для авторизации нужно передать файлы cookie. Программа написана на языке Rust и доступна для всех платформ.

Please help me with a long-term family tech support issue; Is there an easy way on Android to move WhatsApp media (if not the whole app) to the SD card rather than internal memory? Here are the constraints;
- older Samsung (S7 IIRC)
- current data/chats/etc must *not* be lost (includes departed friends and relatives)
- rooting is not an option
- Android forks are not feasible either
