I'm making good progress on my website! I'm using Hugo with Kayal right now. May try to have a crack at making my own Hugo theme in the future.

Now I wanna know, what's the best place to host a static site made with Hugo? I've looked at GitHub Pages, Neocities and Nekoweb. Maybe a DigitalOcean VPS if I ever want to mess with other things beyond static sites but not at the moment.

It needs to at least be accessible via my domain.

Mindful of recent developments in the world, is there any technology to distribute hosting, so the data is shared between many small peers around the world and requests to a site are load balanced across all or some of them and split over "safe" geographies? For common good sites like Wikipedia, The Internet Archive, that sort of thing?

*Any* web hosting service should be able to give you a space into which to upload files to be served, connected to the HTTP/HTTPS end of a hostname/domain name. That's *what they do*.

Many offer *more*, of course. But even when they do you don't need to use that.

The key IMO being to not lock yourself into some service, but to keep your ability to migrate to another.

Something in the Managed Cloud hosting has always bugged me as a DIY dedicated hardware sysop guy. However, times change and currently I'm looking for one or setting up one myself for a site that has insane amount of requests per second.

WP Engine, Pressidium, Pressable, Kinsta, WordPress VIP or custom AWS or what? What do you recommend, specifically for Enterprise WordPress?
