What do you all use to slice up sound #samples on #linux?
I've been using #bitwig and it seems to have reasonable tools for this purpose but a little janky for specifically slicing stuff. (Or maybe it's great I don't have much to compare with!)
*EDIT* Ended up using Audacity and it worked like a charm (even if I could barely read the interface due to no UI scaling options). This video helped a tonne: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtbn5d0L13w
This week's #MusicWomenWednesday is a very strange one, this won't be for everyone. 
Maria Wildeis is out of Cologne, Germany and she just put out an EP called Deep Meaning. It's an ambient-ish, avant-garde, ethereal, industrial-ish but still enjoyable type of odd record, at least to me. You gotta remember, I like Coil. It reminds me of Coil. Some very wild, jarring things out of nowhere in it too (especially right at the end), that I really dig. Cool samples throughout.

I was watching Modern Family with my partner last night and in s1e21, right at the beginning of the bar scene before Cam plays drums, I recognized the crowd ambience as the one that was in Daft Punk's "Revolution 909."
I double-checked it, and both my partner and I agreed it was the same sample. Very fun to notice that!

Me and #RubiaTheCat spent most of this fine #Caturday figuring out how to make an instrument for @dhilowitz's excellent #DecentSampler plugin.
For a first attempt we sampled the #vibraphone patch on my 40-year-old #Casio Casiotone MT-70 synth.
