Duchess Of Snork of Fedi<p>I'm arranging some multi part vocals. I don't have a huge bag of tricks yet, so I'm listening to various things for inspiration. 70s funk, mostly. Y'all, 70s funk is so good! Listening to some more contemporary funk as well, but they don't layer vocals to the same extent. I think I'm walking the middle ground and I've got some things that make me smile or even laugh, so hopefully it's good!</p><p><a href="https://musicians.today/tags/Songwriting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Songwriting</span></a> <a href="https://musicians.today/tags/MusicProduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicProduction</span></a> <a href="https://musicians.today/tags/DIYMusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DIYMusic</span></a> <a href="https://musicians.today/tags/MusiciansDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusiciansDay</span></a></p>
Doktor Lond<p>Recommendations for beginners daw?<br>I'm teaching a 9 year old to play keys. He's been playing around with garage band and I'm trying to get him interested in building productions up more from scratch and playing and recording his own parts. Here is another snippet of the song I've been working on.

The bass and guitar are played by yours truly. They are DI into Amplitube5, with some additional compression and EQ. The organ and strings are programmed with zero humanization. I'll record those with a MIDI controller after I'm done with the guitars (still in progress). The drums are the same as I shared previously.

Musicians and producers: My forthcoming book examines how brain science refines music-making without restricting artistic freedom. It outlines cognitive processes in composition, sound design, and performance while addressing perception, memory, and emotion in creative decision-making. The book offers insights that enhance technical ability and artistic clarity.

#MusicProduction tip: Automate everything. I turned a stock Ableton guitar loop into this synth/chord/soundscape thing in about 20 minutes. Didn't think to save before trying other stuff, but damn it was cool and really easy to do. Ableton has the best automation accessibility support I've ever seen, and it's gotten even better in 12.2
