This MMC in the book I'm reading is so creepy. I love it. He smiles just to hold power over people. Reminds me of my MMC for my WIP. I really do think this needs to be a trope. We need less unexpressive, cold MMCs and more smiling, trickster MMCs in #darkromance

Through Volume 1, it's implied they have a mutual crush. Kind of. She's 24. He's 45.
I...I dunno. That feels weird. Too weird, to me. Too much of an age gap.
Also, his weird obsession with her when she's in cashier mode creeps me out. He specifically goes only to her aisle for check out even if the line is longer. That's explicitly said in the manga.
If a 45 year old dude kept doing that to a 24 year old woman IRL, how weird would that be?

New Read - Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You, Volume 1
So, a lot of folks online have been reading this, apparently, so I saw Volume 1 at the library and picked it up. Also, a lot of folks I had followed on Insta (when I was there) gushed over this.
Premise: 45 year old business dude is kind of obsessed with a younger woman who checks him out at the grocery store. Another woman who works there (same woman, different hair style) asks to smoke with him. They chat outside while smoking together. He doesn't realize they're the same person.
I’ve just started a new audiobook, inspired by my rewatch of Mad Men, which is all about the women who rose to the top at department stores on 5th Avenue and it’s addictive! So fascinating to read all about how these huge stores were run, with in house ad agencies, comparison shoppers snooping on the competition and perks like cheap holidays and college courses in interior design and merchandising. I have some frustrations with the writing style, but Warriors of Ultramar just kinda slaps as a book. Half of it is about training PDF soldiers. The ganger plotline is great.
