1) Do any of those "erase your data from the #Internet" tools the YouTube creators are always advertising actually help? I feel like the spam texts are getting oddly specific, and also I have talked my fair share of shit about the Cheeto-in-Charge online which is seeming more dangerous by the day

2) Also, I unfortunately used my real last name when I jumped on Mastodon. Is there any way to change screen name? I know I looked awhile back and the answer seemed to be no but thought I'd ask again

I've been trying to work on longer #blog posts but I am at a bit of a loss as to start.

I don't know much about #blogging on the creator side, and I am also unsure as to how to promote it without sounding more like an obnoxious #socialmedia person.

I lived under a rock, only used #youtube and #reddit for watching stuff, music, and talking to strangers.

Discovered the #fediverse when I got perma banned from Reddit.

I have #medium but unsure of it.

If you advertise your wares here on Fedi, how often do you post? What hashtags do you use? I have my glitch art on INPRNT and TeePublic, but I haven't been seeing any sales. Granted, part of that is my failing to post about it much, but I've honestly seen pretty much nil from what posting I have done.

Don't store your history on other people's computers. Ask yourself what you would pay to get your data back if it were suddenly destroyed.

Invest in a backup drive and use it, so you always have at least 2 copies of what you care about. Storage is cheaper than ever.

Seagate 1TB for $70 USD, for example, or Toshiba 2TB for $80.

I've just bought a Linux mini computer with Ubuntu preloaded on it. I know what programs I'm going to install for the various things I'll use it for.

I do NOT know what to do for security.
