Ford promised bike lane removals could happen today onward in TO (Bloor W, Yonge, & Uni). That means we’ve got to be vigilant & have our eyes open. If you see construction crews amassing to remove lanes, post/tag local cycling orgs & advocates. Send pictures. Be safe & don’t interfere.
If you see bike lanes being removed, please report it to

@iamcorydeville: I’m officially announcing my bid to run as a candidate for Member of Parliament for the Toronto-Centre riding in this Federal Election. #Toronto #topoli #onpoli #politics #canadianpolitics

Now THIS is fascinating:
Population density:
Netherlands: 520/km²
Toronto: 4,427.8/km²
Households without a car:
Netherlands: 26% (2020)
City of Toronto: 28% (2016)
Total dedicated cycle tracks:
Netherlands: >35,000km
City of Toronto: 467km
We have so much potential!

h/t @notjustbikes for getting me thinking about this comparison!
Yikes. @shawnmicallef.bsky.social shares rumour the TTC’s terrible ex-CEO Rick Leary could be the new CEO of Metrolinx.
He’ll do whatever Queen’s Park tells him to do, including starve the agency. So much for expanded regional transit and on-time performance?

The City of Toronto is trying to use bylaws to limit where protests can happen. Let's stop this from happening via their public consultation.

Fill it out. Share with your friends. Make them stop this from happening.
Ford is back. His threat to rip the heart out of Toronto's safe cycling network could be enacted as soon as this month. Tomorrow morning, March 18th at 7:30am we're mobilizing at Queen's Park to remind our representatives that we won't lie down while they tear up the safe streets Toronto is trying to build.
"Premier Doug Ford and his government have been given the go-ahead to rip up Toronto’s bike lanes as originally planned starting March 20, after a Superior Court judge denied a request for a temporary injunction.
Justice Stephen Firestone on Friday denied an application by cycling advocates for an injunction that would have halted the removal of bike lanes on Bloor Street, Yonge Street and University Avenue until" an April 16 Charter challenge.
Headed out now to my volunteer shift for the ONDP reminding people to vote. So: Ontario please vote today!! There's a tool to help you make where/what/how plans here:
I believe Ford timed this election to suppress the vote beneath a layer of snow. He needs people unengaged, and he needs engaged people distracted (for example, by anti-Trump yelling he won't back up with action). This shouldn't be allowed to work. You could have a better government.
There's a campaign to get Toronto councillors and the city off Twitter.

Email your councillor.
YOU CAN HELP DEFEAT DOUG FORD
We need to flip only 20 seats to take away Doug Ford's majority
Identify swing ridings and DONATE, VOLUNTEER, VOTE for Liberal/NDP candidates most likely to defeat Doug Ford's conservatives.
New #Introduction! I'm May (any pronouns, just use them with intention). A settler living on Treaty 13 territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit in Tkaronto/Toronto.
I care deeply about community, and that underpins almost everything that I do. My current active work is in building better B2B/B2B2C software product organizations, 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusive digital participation, and building local communities.
Trying to be a better human.
I don't even have a real character limit anymore. This is what I post about:
- Primarily #topoli, #onpoli, #cdnpoli. (It's election season for 2/3. Gonna be loud.)
- Attempting to de-FAANG my digital footprint.
- My product/org design/outcomes thoughts and work.
- Food and how it ties us together.
- And of course, shitposts.
Lily Cheng my local municipal councillor for #Willowdale just shared how many emails she got about the new budget and the proposed tax increase.
In a ward of 120,000 people she got 30 emails.
And 4 phone calls.
It really wouldn’t take much to sway this in another direction.

I swear the CN Tower graphic in these perennial budget charts gets worse every year. It's gotta be on purpose, right
