There are more than one crash in Moria's Race. But the most exiting ones happen during the race of the movie. And because this kind of thing was hard for me when I was starting out with Blender, I suppose it will not be a terrible idea to write about how I did it.

The new animation system is at least a step forward.
You can now technically have multiple full animations.
To create a new animation, you have to unlink the previous one.
Unfortunately, Blender doesn't remember what the unlinked Actions & Slots were targeting.

Saw a short video with 2D mesh deform animation today. And got curious if I can make something like that in Blender instead of Spine.
Turns out that I can 
It's a very crude example, ofc, made within 1h or so, without preparing or cutting the image beforehand.
Maybe later I'll find time to make something like that with proper attention. Was pretty fun~
