The Narrows Zion National Park
The Narrows is one of Zion National Park’s most famous hikes, taking you through a stunning slot canyon carved by the Virgin River. Towering sandstone walls rise up to 1,000 feet, while the canyon narrows to just 20-30 feet across in places.
Unlike a traditional trail, hiking The Narrows means wading or swimming through the river.

What did it for me was all the pink.
At Zion National Park, the cliffs are pink. Oh, I suppose you could call them red, but when the sun hits them just right, they glow pink.
And for a boy who grew up and has lived my whole life in the Pacific Northwest -- where the cliffs and rocks are decidedly Not Pink -- it was magical.
