Anyone know where to get waxed (not poly-coated) freezer paper in the USA? My use case is packaging sets of 1" food cubes. My current best option is uncoated paper, but I'll need to use more layers to avoid freezer burn. I did find a 900' roll for $100 but lol that's like. 10 years worth.
#PlasticFree #ecology #ClimateChange .My plastic free project is kitted out (and chaotically stored) .I have wicker in all shapes and sizes,stoneware ,enamel tins an wood apart from stuff I need as my hand joints are damaged ,so food processors etc.I have found plastic is essential only outside in winter and for plant pots .I use ceramic and metal bowls for the chickens and water collection until the subzero days then I switch to ex plastic sweeties tubs and recycled food and storage tubs

The number of kids being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has risen sharply in recent decades, and a new study points to the common plastic additive bisphenol A (BPA) as a potential reason why.
BPA is used in a lot of plastics and plastic production processes, and is also linked it to health issues involving hormone disruption, including breast cancer and infertility.

Last boost (https://fosstodon.org/@ev/109586788923685285) has me thinking how I really need to get closer to #PlasticFree. I was lulled for a while by soft plastic recycling, but it’s increasingly clear that all plastic recycling is at best very fraught. And it’s mostly downcycling, which can only go so far. My personal non-recyclable waste is just a few litres (a small rubbish bin) per week, and a few items of recyclable plastic (mostly milk bottles and other dairy containers)
If, like me, you started seriously #gardening a few yrs ago, how have your views evolved in terms of what you choose to grow + why? What values drive your choices? I started strictly to eat; then to veg/fruit essential enough to yield the best bang for the buck + those I loved but were otherwise too pricey at stores (e.g., raspberries, more herbs); then to a portion for a pharmacy garden; then afield for #foraging. I have a small yard. Driving values: #zerowaste, #plasticfree, #climatechange
