DIVORCED MOTHERS are some of the poorest workers in USA.

Did we learn nothing from the pandemic? And if I with all my privilege (and being gallus enough to ask) can’t do it, what hope for precarious, early career, minoritised academics?

What a terrible country we have here in the US. A young black dad needed to go to a job interview and couldn't afford a baby sitter for his 3 kids and didn't have time to take them home before his meeting bc he also can't afford a car.
So they walked to McDonald's next to his job interview to let them play while he went to the interview.
When he returned he was arrested and may still be in jail rn.
