The impressive curving facade of Salisbury Quadrant on Nithsdale Drive in the Strathbungo area of Glasgow. Designed in the imposing Classical style of Thomson and Turnbull, it was built around 1880.

A large curving Glasgow tenement designed in a style influenced by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson.

#FensterFreitag – Detail des Berringer-Baus in #Rostock. Der Stadtbaudirektor Gustav Wilhelm Berringer entwarf den Gebäudekomplex 1930 für zwei Mädchenschulen. Anfang 2008 wurde das Gebäude durch das Innerstädtische Gymnasium bezogen – nach einer denkmalgerechten Renovierung und Restaurierung im Stil der Neuen Sachlichkeit.

Foto im Hochformat. Ein Fenster in einer Hauswand. Der Fensterrahmen ist braun, um das Fenster ist ein altrosafarbener Rahmen. Der Rest der Wand ist hellgrau. Allerdings sieht man von der Wand kaum etwas, da sie fast komplett bedeckt ist, mit einer Schlingpflanze. Diese kommen aus dem Kopfsteinpflaster vor dem Haus, dicke braune Äste, die immer verzweigter werden und die Wand hoch wachsen. Einige rote Blätter hängen noch daran. Auf der anderen Seite brennt Licht, man sieht einige Regale mit Büchern. Direkt hinter dem Fenster stehen Bilder.

The Five Continents.

So, this is not some sort of AI generated photo, but it is a real existing building.

If you are ever in the city of Antwerp, be sure not to miss ‘The Five Continents’ an Art-Deco building colloquially known as ‘the boat house’ or ‘the little boat’ for it’s facade which has a balcony in the form of a ship.

Built in 1901 to the plans of architect Frans Smet-Verhas and commissioned by the boat builder Petrus Roeis, it was sold 2 years ago for funny money (a 2 and 6 zero’s) to a lawyer firm.
