


quick question: for e.g. my T480, the maximum specified and reported memory capacity is 32GB, but some people managed to install 64GB. (or 48GB for the vPRO models)
To see if this is only a thing affecting y device, I need a few more data points. If you own a T480 and run Linux, please run the following command and post your output below: sudo dmidecode -t memory | grep 'Maximum Capacity'

Can anyone explain to me why and how it is possible to run more memory than supported and how to find out if that also applies to other devices?
