MaggieAppleton/digital-gardeners: Resources, links, projects, and ideas for gardeners tending their digital notes on the public interwebs
For notes, I know that:
@ctietze uses Timebased ones.
@bobdoto uses alphanumeric ones.
What about other #zettelkasten users ?
208 notes kept.
1060 notes handled.
1345 left to go.

Okay, now that I’ve taken time to really try to understand the philosophy behind Obsidian, I’ve come to realize that I like it quite a bit.
Obsidian sync is so much more reliable than Logseq sync, and faster. I can type immediately upon launching the app (desktop & iOS), unlike on Logseq where, sometimes entire bullet points that I’ve written disappear because I didn’t wait for the sync indicator to show that it’s ready.
It’s also a lot less opinionated, has mobile theme & plugin support, etc.
I’ve been able to make Obsidian work exactly as I want it and I’m quite happy with that.
There are still certain things that Logseq does incredibly well out-of-the-box (like task management) but overall I’m excited to keep using Obsidian!
With a bit of luck I might find the time to setup a proper PARA setup in my #Obsidian tonight.
I have a few projects, bookmarks and ideas I wanted to tackle in the past few days but I really also wanted to first finish the books.
“Brain Unveiled” is a weekly newsletter dedicated to showcasing individuals’ Second Brain/Productivity setups and inspiring others.
So I'm gearing up to do a lot of #reading & #research & after being in #Obsidian for the past year I've resurrected my Notion as my hub.
The last couple of days I've been neck-deep in making databases & capture systems so that my process is easily accessible and functional (aka #SecondBrain or #PARA method).
ANYWAY - I'm quite chuffed with myself because I named my system Pinky (the capture) and The Brain (the second brain...get it?...get it?)
The analogy is just so perfect
In this year, I’ve discovered more about myself, both in life and through the fediverse.
I’ve discovered wonderful communities such as the #CrossBorderRail community or all the wild and wacky #pkm community who are selflessly sharing their own opinionated experiments as to how to write down and categorise their #SecondBrain so those of us with less oomph can pick out the things that work for us. I’ve even had to recognise that there are some people who are much more into #Tea than I am.
I’ve enjoyed interacting with so many people, none are getting a mention here so as not to make the post just 1000 characters of @mentions. You’re all amazing, and you all deserve hugs and love.
I’ve had my share of frustrations. This platform has a number of rough edges that need filing down. But the important thing is that people are listening and working on them, and progress is being made. Slowly, yes, but this is a hobby for most. So even this part is a positive experience for me
Finished my @obsidian migration.
Took this time to clean up some outdated information as well as some notes and documents that are no longer valid.
Excited to continue to use this platform.
Vilken anteckningsapp använder du?
I veckans poddavsnitt jämför vi fyra säkra och integritetsvärnande anteckningsappar: Apple Anteckningar, @joplinapp, Standard Notes och @notesnook.
Today is the day I realized I had a #commonplacebook, I just wasn’t using it right.
@alecui [qoto.org] vim user here, I use vimwiki with #zettelkasten for my notes.
You could probably check @chrisaldrich accoxnt, and his website.
@ellane toots a lot about plain text notes, #ObsidanMD and other things around it.
Follow some hashtags like :
Trying out an #Obsidian kanban board to map out my personal goals for the year. Every card is linked to a project note with tasks log, some interstitial journaling.
One day I should get off my butt to write and shoot a video about this
There's something satisfying about the Done queue.
It's also really helpful to see what you've accomplished for the year and whether you're heading the right direction.
