Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Visit dpw.lacounty.gov/roadclosures/ for road closure updates.
Nicholas Pond on a full year. It's probably filled up from the storm, I would hope. #Malibu
M3.7 earthquake was right below Nicholas Pond. (tiny little pond, which for some reason exists at the top of a cliff... people have previously thrown bluegill and bass in there.) #Malibu #earthquake
Video of that LAFD vehicle getting pushed off the PCH by a mudflow and swept into the ocean. Oops!
Full closure continues, as expected, on the PCH beneath the #PalisadesFire burn scar due to mudslide removal. 2/14/25 0700 #CAwx #Malibu #PacificPalisades
Oops. "At 5 p.m., a member of the Los Angeles Fire Department driving along PCH in Malibu was swept off the roadway and into the ocean by a debris flow down Big Rock Drive" #Malibu
Well, that's not good. Duke's survived the fire, but now has mud damage.
"Heavy debris flows were reported at Duke’s Malibu, at PCH and Las Flores Canyon Road. The oceanfront restaurant survived the fire but appeared to be sustaining significant flood damage during the storm as Caltrans crews used heavy machinery to scoop up mud and try to clear the roadway."

All these canyons are likely to have some kind of issue now that the hillsides above are burnt, and homes/landscape incinerated. I am not an official or expert on this, but as a disaster watcher these areas would make me nervous. (that said, good chunks of these areas have no one living there now, homes all destroyed)
