Adjusted the 'rspeed' door bushings on the Miata this weekend. I do prefer these hard ones to the stock rubber, but the doors could be a bit hard to open.
So I set to fixing that. Through a combination of adjusting the bushing height, adjusting the door cup opening with pliers, and a little bit of sanding with some 220 grit, both doors now open/close like stock.
The outsides I built up some layers of tesa tape to fill the cup and cut out 'squeaking' over bumps.

One Miata headlight failed to retract the other day. Unplugged the motors, wound them down. Looks like my headlight looms were occasionally getting pinched. Zip-tied those out of the way.
Sometimes there was a delay between headlights on, and popping up. Twice also, the wipers didn't work.
So I have pulled and cleaned up the ignition switch.
Tough to say if I have fixed these intermittent issues, but everything seems to be working again!
Get in loser we’re going shopping #FursuitFriday

The NC passed tech inspection, we're on grid for the bracket race
While I had the valve cover off, I replaced the o-ring on the cam angle sensor with a viton ring. This normally is quick and simple, but I have the supermiata coolant reroute.
On the 1.6's (CAS on the intake), the shifted water temp. probe blocks the CAS withdrawal. Removing the cam cap gave just enough wiggle room to slip by.
CAS o-ring was only a little leaky but it's time was definately up, snapped when prodded. Replaced with a viton ring.

I just tooted earlier about finding myself behind a #Mazda #MX5 #Miata and one of the responses mentioned the dynamics etc.
I’ve never been a big fan of manuals (although I love shiftable automatics) but maybe I should drive the right one to understand why so many #WeirdCar fans desire them.
I’ve driven a Golf Mk I manual (not GTi), a Mercedes-Benz (hated it), and a few other nondescript manual rentals in various guises.
If you had to drive ONE manual to understand, which would it be?
I miss my old #mx5 so much that I decided to make my lounge a convertible
Two years ago I bought my dream car
I had to widen my search to 250mi, but I found the exact spec I was looking for… 5.5hr away. The parental units agreed to take a road trip with me to get the car. I think they were happy to see it to the end since I talked about Miatas so often.
I plan to own Blue Lightning long-term and I’ll surely drive it as much — I’m talking hundreds of thousands of miles. I know I’ll love every one of them.

I don't really consider myself sporty but that might be some kind of denial given I have interests in several sports and I competed for #Scotland and #GB in #TargetShooting bbetween 2013 and 2021.
This year I have been involved in #running, #cycling, #curling, #hiking and #rockclimbing.
I also enjoy #cars and take great pride in my #mx5 mark 2 called Tooog! He is the same age as me down to almost the month and together we have driven in the annual #SutherlandRally for the last two years.
