DAY 22 - The Machine Never Sleeps.
More microtonal experiments, this time it's fully microtonal. It's all in a microtonal scale called Orwell[9], a subset of 31edo.
It also samples some stuff from my previous songs, like Ominos' drums.
(god, i really need to upload Ominos one of these days. it's a GOOD song.)

At some point, something went awry with this one. I switched gear again and didn't check if my patterns had the same length as before. Turns out they were quite a bit longer, and that's why this piece is almost twice the usual time. No wonder it felt harder to add variations...
I'm still quite happy with this bizarre drum n bass infused IDM thing. It's all wrong yet kind of right somehow.

This is pretty cool. First couple tracks had me thinking it would be sort of ambient / ambient techno but ends up mostly being more sort of breakbeat idm / jungle.
TIL that some of my music was used in a game called Onverse, which I hadn't heard of, but was apparently some kind of "virtual world" thing. I got a message from someone who said that the track is a "core memory of [their] childhood" from hearing it in part of the game (which I gather was called Splatball). How cool! Definitely made my day. This is the track in question ("More Than I Thought"):
Meant to check this out when it came out but it slipped me by, great stuff in the IDM / experimental techno area as usual from DjRUM.
