My best tip is for clean-up. That boiling hot water spigot you got to make your tea? (If not, get one.) Use that water on the pan off the stove, or on anything that got crusted over on your plates or other dishwasher safe implements like casseroles. You can also use it to soak your sponge, if you're careful not to burn yourself. Wait a few seconds then scrub. You'll be surprised that practically everything comes off immediately, even burned on stuff. On things like cast-iron implements, just pour the hot water on directly. Then use a brush.
