For #invertefest, and some extra #artAdventCalendar posts till the end of December, I will post some of my 2024 #invertebrate art. This was a commissioned of my choice of invertebrates in Indonesia. I chose the Great Mormon Butterfly because I thought its black/white/grey and red colour scheme was so graphic and would make a great print. Interestingly though, they don’t always look like this. 🧵

#ArtAdventCalendar day 24: My favorite crocheted snowflake. Let it snow! (It actually did snow a bit here earlier, then freezing rain - a mix.) I really love making this particular pattern because when I'm done I have to pull on all the points to get that woven looking part next to the center to look right. It's magical! #crochet

A white crocheted snowflake in a pattern that makes it look like different snowflakes depending on which pattern or layer you pay attention to. There's a small six lobed holey snowflake at the center, a woven looking one with the stitches close together, then a swooping lacy one, and finally the outer one that's more lace and floral-like.
