After Samsung paused the rollout [officialaptivi.wordpress.com] of the One UI 7 update due to a bug in which users are unable to unlock their phones after reboot, we had seen something [officialaptivi.wordpress.com] that may have led us to something big.
Starting from April 15th, which is today [x.com], One UI 7 will be rolled out to the Galaxy S24 phones again, starting from Korea and all affected countries to the global release that was supposed to happen on the 14th. Here’s what the post said:
One UI 7 will be pushed to S24 series users today
The timelines will be updated to align with this rollout and to let the users know when their device will be updated to One UI 7. The long wait for One UI 7 had frustrated users due to lack of official communication at the time, and the rollout pause further exacerbated the problem, which was the climax of the story. Now, we’ve come to the resolution and we should be seeing users get the One UI 7 update soon.
I've been looking for Android Dev Phone 1 OS images for quite a while, but most (if not all) of them appear to be lost to time.
See: https://web.archive.org/web/20110221122638/http://developer.htc.com/adp.html
The only files I could find were the System and Recovery image files for Android 1.6. All earlier ones I failed to find.
Does anyone have these files, or know where I could find them?

This is horrific. Pixel, Android, Chrome are tangible products that, if anything, deserve more polishing and development.
Google is instead devesting from them in favor of an even more inflated AI play that doesn't actually deliver the same real value to customers/consumers, if any. But at unsustainable resource costs.
We're fucking up our world on fucking purpose and intentionally. Virtue signaling to investors ... What, exactly?
Here’s the finished thing. A little Android flip-top bin.
Super happy with how he came out. As soon as I made the bin and saw the mouth, I had to do it.

Telus has just updated their software update schedule [forum.telus.com] for their users in Canada. We are surprised to learn that the Galaxy S24 and the Z Fold/Flip 6 listings have not been taken down. Instead, we saw three new entries that claimed that the following devices would be getting the One UI 7 update in Canada:
If there are no further delays to the One UI 7 release schedule, we could see the Canadian users getting the One UI 7 update in the abovementioned date. Telus, again, warns that the dates are approximate and may change.
[So, with Samsung halting the One UI 7 rollout for the 2024 flagships [officialaptivi.wordpress.com], will the release-critical issues be fixed before April 22nd?
@iFixit (or anyone) would you happen to know if it's possible to remove the battery from a newer smartphone (say, a Samsung S20) and have it run only from power coming from usb? (End goal: run a phone as a server without the risk of an old battery exploding).
As Samsung planned for the global rollout of Good Lock starting this year, Good Lock is now available on the Play Store for One UI 7 users, starting from Romania. This is the first step towards the global expansion of Good Lock, which was region-locked for almost a decade.
Download Good Lock [play.google.com]This is only available for devices running One UI 7, and those who are still running One UI 6.1 (and are waiting for One UI 7 to reach their devices) will have to rely on the Galaxy Store. Those who are not running One UI 7 will be met with this message:
[The launch version is 3.0.11.2, which was updated on April 10th, 2025, while the first version was released on January 20th, 2025, one day before Galaxy Unpacked January 2025.
Good Lock is an application that allows you to customize your phone in a way that makes your phone in your style, such as UI, home screen, lock screen, and so on. It’s uses modules to allow customization of different parts, such as customizing the lock screen and leveraging the DIY Home feature to make your home screen in your style, whether it’s casual, simple, and so on.
It’s April 14th, and users were excited about getting One UI 7 on that day. Suddenly, there was a post from a reliable tipster [x.com] on X, UniverseIce, that confirmed that there was a serious bug in the initial version of the One UI 7 update pushed to the Galaxy S24. Today, you won’t get the One UI 7 update.
Earlier, Samsung pulled the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ builds from Europe and Korea by reverting the update [officialaptivi.wordpress.com] to the last build of One UI 6. This means that the One UI 7 build has been taken down.
Samsung has officially taken down the One UI 7 update with build number BYCG/H/J/K in all regions. This means that there is going to be a delay in the release of One UI 7 for all regions until they fix the bug.
Now, the builds are: (Korea, Europe, USA (unlocked and locked), and Canada)
You can’t update your phone to One UI 7 now.
We are awaiting Samsung’s explanation as to why they took down the update, and we are hopeful that they address serious issues that may have snuck into the old stable builds of One UI 7 as mentioned above as fast as possible to resume the One UI 7 rollout starting from Korea.
If you’ve updated your phone to One UI 7 before the rollout paused, you are likely to experience those issues. Once the rollout resumes, you’ll receive a very small incremental update that fixes those issues under the BYD? build.
If you haven’t updated your phone to One UI 7, you’re safe from those issues. You’ll have to wait until the rollout resumes, which could happen this week or the next week.
We’ll let you know when the One UI 7 rollout resumes.
