I regret not getting extra long screwdrivers :drgn_hide:

...

And, it's done. (For now.)

"windows could not find drivers for your PCI device"

Ah, it can't even recognize what the card is supposed to be. That would be a problem, yes

LiquidParasyte
Public

Oh! Never mind, the card is showing up

Edit: or is it o_O

My Zen 4's integrated GPU is very helpful but it does not like this strain :neofox_googly_shocked_256:

Maybe I'll just boot directly into Windows to get these drivers to work

LiquidParasyte

forgot to actually download the wifi drivers for the chipset

It's interesting that even in this very degraded setup, the fans are dead silent by default on Windows

I'm not looking forward to tweaking fan curves on Linux

These motherboard drivers are surprisingly bad, woof

I'm assuming it's not a normal thing for the text rendering to randomly have letters shrink and phase out and weird vertical lines appear across the screen?

Something to look into later — how exactly does CPU topology in KVM work? I want to crave out 8 of my physical processor's threads to put in the VM, but after booting it up it only sees 4.

If I try to mimic a physical 4 core/8 thread chip with in manual topology, it demands I feed it 32 vCPU cores.

I don't think Zen Browser likes running on my igpu...

Mmk this is actually driving me up the wall

Is there something about that breaks the menu bar from working properly on KDE?
I've installed the same app from a flatpak and from an appimage and it's only on the appimages that the menu bar is completely missing

If their CEO crashing out wasn't enough to make me move elsewhere, Proton's abysmal Linux support just might be...

The year is 2025 and we still do not have a function cloud file sync

It's so much easier dealing with a switch to Linux when you're starting from scratch (e.g. Steam Deck) rather then trying to deal with migrating every single piece of your workflow that you have to migrate over

LiquidParasyte

On that note, while I wait for Steam flatpak to shutdown (it takes inordinately long for some reason...), what E2EE, private Linux supporting cloud file do y'all use instead of Proton?

Plasma 6.3 is adding a one-click option to delete all of any type of widget you may have used somewhere! So that might help, maybe?

I really seem to be a glutton for "this is a completely absurd ask that's probably more trouble than it's worth researching for but I wanna do it anyways"

Anyway, I want to be able to stream my PC audio into my phone's speakers rather than the other way around

In case anyone had issues installing Decky Loader on Fedora (Kinoite), you just need to layer zenity with rpm-ostree and it will be fine afterwards 👍

I think :blobfoxthumbsup: :neofox_woozy_256:

@LiquidParasyte hey, look into "flatseal" on the discover store if you haven't, it's a super simple GUI for giving flatpak permissions to devices (whether it's drives, or just specific folders, or any of the other various sandboxed permissions needed)
