Das Fiber Life Festival fand Ende März auf dem ikonischen Tianmu Plaza in 杭州 statt. Das Festival drehte sich um FIBER. Also ganz klassisch um Wolle, Garne, Stoffe, Spinnen, Weben ... aber auch um Themen wie Recycling, Kunst und Life-Balance.

Doch auch um Textilien als Metapher für das Miteinander-Verwoben-Sein und eine Gemeinschaft von Gleichgesinnten.

Another throwback today. This is a shirt I made for my Uncle's 60th birthday. I made it with cotton yarn because he lives in a humid climate. I even made the buttons! I have no idea if he wears it or not, but I hope he liked it! #crochet #crocheting #handmade #yarn #grannystitch #grannyhexagon

Good morning.

Spinning wool. Cotswold wool on a supported/bottom whorl spindle.

I'm getting tired of spinning the superwash merino + nylon blend (for socks). The texture isn't really interesting me right now. Tussah silk is still interesting. It's just... the individual fibers get stuck to EVERYTHING. It's basically like spinning a bunch of spider's webs. Except silk comes from a moth.

Well, you know.

Last but not least, this guy! I have #microlocs myself, but they’re interlocked and I initially wasn’t sure how to translate that to #crochet, but it still worked out! This guy is primarily composed of category 2 #yarn and I think he turned out the coolest. 4 out of 4 #commissions done, tomorrow I’ll post the behind the scenes photos!

Something I’ve struggled with for a stupidly long time is #crocheting Caucasian characters. The #yarn I had was either too gray, too yellow, or too pink

. One of the #caron one pound beige yarns was finally the right color and I was able to move forward with the #commission! But it wasn’t as simple as finding the one apricot crayon

The details in that beauty are great, I love all the structure. Lots of bobble stitches in variations. (.... though not as many as in my current WIP)
I remember I made this shawl for a MAL over on Ravelry (Make-Along) with the topic Earth and my inspiration was Sedona.
The pattern itself was also a CAL (Crochet Along) by the Designers, but I made it later. In any case - I love the composition of this pattern. Bonus - the yarn is from a small yarnwinder in my country. As small as our country is, that makes her local to me. :D

This is a very special piece. In one of my yarn surprise boxes, there was this crazy luxurious yarn:
40% Wool - Merino
25% Camelid - Llama
20% Silk
15% Cellulose - Linen / Flax

I was almost scared to use it and searched the longest time for a fitting project. I eventually decided on the Shawl of the Moirae and I think it's such a special piece.
