Many people have old class narratives for why fascism is rising across the world, such as economic anxiety and others, narratives I have even promoted in the past, however me being a more 21st century intersectional feminist and a pro-tech leftist, I propose a different hypothesis.
I think what's going on is that the internet is a revolutionary technology that has accelerated social progress when it comes to the awareness of marginalized groups, such as queer people, alterhumans, plural systems and more.
It has also created a more global and interconnected world, to the point that authoritarian regimes have to censor the internet, because now any atrocity is now instantly known across the world, even when a US aligned country like Israel commits an atrocity it's no longer possible to hide it.
And I think because of all of the above, I think there's a global reactionary backlash to the accelerated social progress and interconnectedness the internet has created. As you will notice, the reactionary backlash exists regardless of ideology.
From fascist who I don't have to explain why are opposed to it, to transphobic liberals, to communist who see queer people as bourgeois decadence. essentially what's happening is all reactionary forces are uniting regardless of ideology to oppose the accelerated social progress and liberation of marginalized groups, or what these people call "wokeness."
in fact I'll go as far as say it's the reason why now the reactionary forces are trying to censor the internet with things like project 2025. Because they're so scared of the way the internet is creating an interconnected world, that they're afraid of the possibility of it taking away their power.
ultimately the 21st century will be the battle between ultimate progressivism and ultimate conservatism within the ruins of liberalism.

Reports that OpenAI is creating specialized AI agents to sell for $20,000 per month.
So OpenAI apparently believes custom-built AI agents are now worth $240,000 per year, about half the cost of the most highly-paid medical professional. It may be no where near as good as an actual human doctor or lawyer or engineer, but it never sleeps, it never gets tired. And in exchange for that ability to work round-the-clock at a fraction of the capacity of an actual human, it takes around a million times more water and electrical energy to keep it running than a human.
If I didn’t know better, then this would be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard, which makes me wonder if OpenAI is having their own AI generate business plans for them now.
But I do know better. It sounds stupid because they are lying about their stated goals. Their actual goal is for the wealthy ruling class to eliminate all human labor by any means necessary, and create a perfect wealth-generating machine for themselves. Nevermind that the logical extension of this is that they will have to murder everyone else on Earth who is not among their trusted inner circle, as all other humans are all potentially competitors for their natural resources. All their talk about a hybrid of humans and smarter-than-human machines is the philosophy of transhumanism put into practice, “transhuman” being just another word for “Ubermensch,” or “master race.” That is the real goal, which is why this ridiculous business plan by OpenAI actually makes sense.

Ok, so, looking over the results of my #Furry / #transhumanism #BodyModification #Poll, I see the following...
187 Users Voted.
08%, 15 respondents, said they would not get any body mods done.** Interesting number, because it implies a little under a tenth of our simulated population is going all-natural. I find it really interesting that this number is the smallest, because it would make un-modded people an effective minority subculture if this poll held true the 2120s.
26%, 49 respondents, said they would get Body Mods that were NOT furry. This would likely mean a range of things from tattoos to cosmetic changes to cybernetics to entirely new parts. It's notable for my writing purposes, because it means I should include more humans with visible mods, and do more fact finding on what those mods would be.
A total of %34, or 64 respondents, would not get furry mods. That means only a third of the simulated population is completely un-furry. Very interesting...

I think since in mainstream politics Elon musk has become the face of all things related to Tech. And because of that people are now becoming more anti-tech because of that. I think we left transhumanists need to unite. Since currently as it stands now the pro tech type of leftist is very rare. So because of that we need to create an alliance to slowly break the duopoly between the tech Bros and the anti-tech people until our ideas become mainstream.

Settle my argument that the subculture described in my #Scifi setting of #Modders is not unreasonable...
Imagine you lived in a future where #BodyModification technology was at the point that you could quickly and cheaply get pretty much a full rework of your body, and one of these was a potentially reversible procedure to make you an IRL #Furry by giving you #anthropomorphic #animals features, such as fur, tail, muzzle, etc. Imagine this is mature technology, and normalized enough, that there will be no medical or societal ramifications if you get such modifications.
Do you get the #BodyMods to make you a Furry?

If you're transphobic you're not a transhumanist. An essential principle of transhumanism is morphological freedom. And trans people having the right to transition is a form of morphological freedom. You're just a bioconservative that likes the aesthetics and that's it.
