@BenjaminBrinckmann sadly there seems to be a big difference in the interpretation of #motiongraphics #motiondesign depending on who you ask, but I usually see particle type effects with 3d objects as opposed to what is typical in #ae which usually behaves more like 2d cutout animations, 2.5d, primarily masking, scaling, spinning, shape layers, trim paths and text animation...basically moving illustrator/Photoshop.
I can't wait for a capable #foss replacement, but I haven't found one yet:(
I have a question for the #FOSS community: I'm actually going to focus a bit more on #infographics in my professional work and want to be able to be able to make simple 2D motion graphics as well, like animating trail paths on maps for example. I think I'm going to try and see what can be done in #Blender3D , but I would like to know whether there are any decent alternatives to Adobe After Effects for animating vector graphics that can be recommended?

This animation is the result of a lesson by a Blender artist named Šime Bugarija. I made some modifications like adding the blinking light over the chair, the bird and the sinister eyes in the attic.

@alemarcati@pixelfed.social still a bit disappointed that @pixelfed limits video size to 15Mb. That size is acceptable for stills, but It makes even very short videos look terrible. Would be cool if the file size limit was one for stills and another for video. Even something like 30Mb for video would already make a big difference in video quality.
