For 60 years, the U.S. Navy used Vieques as a war playground, displacing families and turning paradise into a toxic wasteland. The people resisted with blockades, occupations, and mass disobedience—until they forced the empire to back down.

It's pretty clear that it's a small team behind it, and I wish they had more resources to be able to put more indigenous languages on the map (literally!).

Settlers fear other settlers will steal stolen land

In the wake of comments by U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump about making Canada the 51st state, settlers are anxious about the prospect of their stolen land being stolen by another land’s settlers.

“We stole this land fair and square, now they want to come steal it?” lamented Blanche Albus, a settler in Toronto, Ontario.

“This is bullshit.”
