Parker: The Solar System from Near the Sun

NASA's Parker Solar Probe captured a time-lapse from inside #Mercury's orbit, showing coronal streamers, a Coronal Mass Ejection, and #planets like Mercury and #Venus. Between #Earth and #Mars, #Comet Tempel 1 appears. The video also shows high-energy solar particles. This data helps us understand space weather impacts on Earth.

a photo from yesterday just after the height of the eclipse, so the sun looks a bit the wrong shape.
it's of some bright, lemon-yellow kale flowers (feature fuzzy bee bum!) looking up at a weirdly shaped sun in an almost clear blue sky. there are some white clouds on the horizon along with the top of a telegraph pole.
the flowers look like they're enjoying the eclipse but very much ignoring the advice not to look directly at the sun.

A Partial Solar #Eclipse over Iceland

Yesterday, a partial solar eclipse occurred at sunrise in parts of North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. A striking photo from Iceland shows the Sun partially obscured by the #Moon, with a person seemingly pulling it out. No total eclipse was seen this time.

La superficie metálica es oscura y brillante, con reflejos que sugieren un acabado pulido. We pointed my phone vaguely in the direction of the sun, which was hiding behind a dark cloud, and got the eclipse via a lens flare so that was a nice accident xD

Your last chance to catch the partial #eclipse today. Don't look at the sun - poke a hole in some cardboard and look at the image on a sheet of white paper behind it.
Or use binoculars like this.

Didn't have any proper equipment, so I improvised a pinhole camera making a small hole in a piece of paper with a toothpick and projecting the image of the (partial) eclipse on a second piece of paper.
Rudimentary, but it works.
