Today we're diving back into a #BoomerShooter, but not the one you're thinking of. No instead for today's VOD we had just gotten our copy of the then newly released #BuildEngine game, #IonFury. This was such a fun return to form for #3DRealms, and aside from the quality issues on our end throughout the playthrough, the whole thing went rather smoothly.
Oh! And this marks the first VOD that used some form of branding/overlay, so welcome to the second era of our saga, the Glitch Era...

I have streams, shorts, and uploads, way too big for even most corpo sites. If I exclude media with my old voice/name, it's more manageable but streams are still realllly big
Interested in Torrent, could host locally + VPN, pretty free. Low discoverability.
Heard of Loops, might try, but shorts only.
Tried Peertube, ehhh don't think so
so #Youtube should be completely destroyed, right now if you are a #DataHoarder download all the you-tube videos that you consier culturally significant, turn them into torrents, mirror them on
If you're a #contentCreator, youtube is not really a viable medium for earning revenue, most you-tubers i watch are mainly financed by patreon, porn sites pay significantly more and will have better reach, even for educational content, i wouldn't ask anyone to delete their youtube channel, but please consider dual alternative platforms, like #PeerTube
Not supporting #Twitter is really as easy as going elsewhere, and when some #artist or #writer or other #ContentCreator or especially seller decides to be Twitter Exclusive, it's really easy to go find another one elsewhere.
Remember, you're the one these Twitter creators are trying to reach, and you have many other options. Best to just ignore Twitter-Exclusive creators and remain here, where we have plenty more who DON'T support Twitter. :3
Just a reminder to people that when you see people posting their #Art, #Photography, #Writing / #Microfiction, or otherwise being a #ContentCreator on the #Fediverse, we can't see that you've looked at what we posted unless you interact with it. A post with no interactions could have been seen by no one, or a few thousand people, we don't know.
If you like what we are doing, and want to see more of that, be sure to click one of the buttons: #boost it, #follow them, #reply with something as simple as "I like this", or even just hit that #fave button, because the fave button is great for telling us that people looked at it and wanted to see more. We all Love that feedback!
The number one reason #ContentCreators leave the network is because they don't think people are looking at their posts, and #TheContentMustFlow, so simply acknowledging that you like their work is crucial to keeping them on the network.

Lord how I wish webrings would come back en masse. I especially love the idea of #contentCreator s supporting each other with links to other #creator s they like, instead of just praying the algorithm gods are kind to me that day. I know some creators occasionally do "shout outs" to other smaller creators, but not often, and it's a lot easier to just put up a small blurb with a link on their website than include it in a video (and a lot easier to take the link down if the creator later turns out to be a creep)

I had a hard time falling asleep last night because I was daydreaming about what it would take to start my own #contentCreator convention in the #PNW (similar to #VidCon but with way more focus on networking and collaboration between small creators than enticing really famous people to come and selling merch and tickets to their adoring preteen fans).
It's an idea I've had for a while and it's still very Pie in the Sky but I just keep thinking about the steps I'd have to take to set it up, and also what I could possibly do to try to get other content creators to show up. I don't even live in Seattle, I live in Portland but I figure Seattle is a larger city and we'd have a better chance of getting people to show up maybe in the next couple of years, as I find more time to work on content as my kids get older and now that my dad is dead. I can have a better chance at befriending some content creators, maybe even some with some clout who can pull people that I can't as attendees, and see if it is actually possible to put something together by the year 2027 or so.
I have a history of signing myself up for too many projects and not having the spoons or time to fulfill them, but I really think this would be an awesome opportunity to connect small creators in a way that we haven't been able to online (every time I've joined some Discord or subreddit or whatever that's supposed to link small creators, it's just Minecraft and Roblox players dropping links to their own content without ever checking out anyone else's).
Anyway I know mastodon's not really the place to talk about this since I don't think anyone on here even watches YouTube videos, let alone makes their own, and who knows what social media platforms will even still be around in 2 years. But anyway it's just something I've been dreaming about for a while.
