#WipWednesday - The latest progress on the Farstriders. Blacked out the underarmor and started laying metallics down on weapons. Got some washes down on capes and armor.
Fighting myself on what metallic hues to use on the crossbows. I liked the idea of the brown tin (axe model) but more silver-family tones seem they'll give better contrast against the golden armor (sword model).

What am I doing wrong? Whenever I try to do thinner layers, I end up with pooling and tide marks, and even though I try to build up the layer, it still doesn't look smooth. At this point I'm about ready to give up on layering

We did it, fam! We beat our previous hobby streak record.
Anyway, glued some more terrain, and it should be done tomorrow*.
*: that's what I've been thinking for the last three days. Eventually it'll be true, though.
PS: I'm supposed to paint the slave wheel separately but I'm not sure I'll have an occasion to do that. And, anyway, does anyone know if plastic glue works on painted bits?

was building an Ork band for WarCry tonight and needed a second Brute w/ Gorechoppa but the $50 box only comes with 1 of the weapon bits.
Fortunately, like menu items at taco bell, with enough cutting and gluing any pile of Ork weapons can be made to look like any other Ork weapons and can save you some earthbucks. Plus you get a different pose!
