@DrakkenZero@retro.pizzaI've always thought that the Alien races Barbarue and Valky looked very similar, and also they both look like someone was trying to create their own Shadow The Hedgehog version of the Land of Light (Ultraman) inhabitants.
I know since their introduction we've had real legit "evil" Ultramen (looking at you, Belial) but these two designs, in my heart, are the real "evil" Ultras.
@DrakkenZero@retro.pizzaI am watching Ultraman Geed for the first time ever (not sure how I missed it when it came out) and Yuta Ozawa's performance as Leito Igaguri is FANTASTIC.
He does the Clark Kent thing so well, seamlessly transitioning between bumbling buffoon and confident superhero, turning his entire body language on a dime.

Wow... I'm almost speechless. Too many of us can feel related to Aoi's wishes and life.Far too many! This episode is a classical cautionary tale, told in the style only Ultraman can tell it.
And is a SERIOUS one.
And also,wehave one of the mos dynamic giant fights with some of the best shots you can watch (The overhead one is glorious!).
P.S.:This could be the same red Sphere seen in the movie featuring Tiga, Dyna and Gaia?

Finally watching my copy of Shin Ultraman. Five minutes in and it’s already fantastic. I really need to watch more Ultraman.
Ultraman Rising is my favourite movie of the year
One thing I like about the New Generation Ultraman series is that even all these decades later, they are still using actors in suits, miniatures, and forced perspective to do the majority of the special effects. Of course it’s now augmented by CG, digital editing, and maybe chromakey in a few places, but in general, it’s still the same method used in the ‘60s when the series started.
And of course the regular appearances of classic kaiju like Garamon, Red King, Eleking, Gubila, and many others keeps things connected to Ultraman’s legacy.
The production, writing, direction, and acting have evolved with the times, but the presentation remains largely faithful to the classic era. It’s just a lot shinier now.
