This is pretty cool, that cone / teepee looking structure in the left foreground is a late 19th century Diné (Navajo) wikiup.

A color landscape photo of a very large block of tan-red sandstone. It is eroded with deep vertical groves. the cliff face is sheer with very little rubble at the base. The foreground is sagebrush and a couple of small pinon pine trees. In the left foreground is the remains of a Native-American wikiup, teepee shaped framework of large branches stacked to form a cone. When it was in use an hundred and fifty years ago, it was covered with hides.

The BedMachine v3 bed has some subjective advantages over Bedmap3 where glacier flow is relatively fast, but survey data are sparse. The black dotted line highlights a trough under slow-flowing ice that is more smoothly continuous in Bedmap3. An objective test of bed accuracy in this area requires more survey data.

Black and gray, ~60 million year old columnar-jointed basalt coated in orange and yellow lichen in the center and bottom of the photo, and green herbaceous plants with tiny pink flowers in the top of the photo, on the Isle of Staffa, Scotland. Columnar jointing forms when thick lava masses cool and contract;the shrinking is accommodated by the solid mass dividing naturally into columns with four or more sides (normally six).
