A few ASCII screenshots from the DF Out of Placers mod, YingFortress.
Currently still lacks graphics for most things, aside from a single type of ore.
In the screenshots are: a Trailmaster (Early game Fortress mode) along with Indrel, Baxxid, and Yinglet adventurers.
Decided to treat myself to the premium version of Dwarf Fortress for my birthday, and I'm pleased to say that my first* fort is only slightly haunted and miasma-filled, with an infant mortality rate of well under 100%.
*I have actually started the game before, but didn't get on with it when it was ASCII graphics and keyboard-control only.

I never played adventure mode tbh, the controls looked like too much

Try and naturally train a dwarf with the Title (highest still) in some of the baffling, useless, or esoteric skills that have their own title.
"Gelder" is my favorite title in DF, because to have a title of Gelder, you can't simply cut balls off. Cutting balls off has to be your STRONGEST title-able skill. Your ART.
