The Dire Mushrump<p>I tried out (faux) scrimshaw! The icosahedron blank was just off-white resin, and I carved it with a carbon steel scribe, then filled the scratches with ink like real scrimshaw. MightyMightyDice<p>Ich hab ein neues Violett mit dem ich echt happy bin!</p><p>Die Würfel sind frisch aus dem Topf aber leider noch nicht komplett ausgehärtet. Liquid core d20! It seems to have worked although it's a real hassle to seal the alcohol, glycerine, and mica powder inside the glass ball

I love how it swirls when it's rolled though 🌀

I really like building a library of molds I can use to cast resin shapes, here I made a little floating castle that can fit inside a 40mm d20 die

Infinite decorating possibilities with #DiceMaking 🏰

I'm holding the castle in grey polymer clay, it's about the size of a walnut The base is a round, roughly flat top with a tapered rocky point at the bottom. The castle has a large gate with many towers of different heights, all with conical roofs textured to suggest tiles
Another angle of the castle, it has crenellated walls with rough stone foundations, and the tallest tower has a bartizan, a small side-tower branching from the main tower. There are some slit windows here and there
A castle cast in grey resin from the mold of the clay castle, I added a black wash and some white drybrushing to give it some texture, the roofs are terracotta tiles and there's green on top of the base, with flocked grass and moss plants The bottom point is attached to a clear resin base so it can "float" inside the final die, with some fluffy white soap clouds around it
Another castle resin cast, in ivory this time, with a brown wash. The rocky base is light brown and the roofs are gold with gold bead ornaments on each roof point. The vines on the side of the castle have pink bead flowers and the moss trees are pink to suggest cherry blossoms. A real fairy tale castle!

I sculpted a little clay goblin head for #GoblinWeek, and I made a silicone mold

Then the next time I was casting silicone I had some extra, so I made another mold

Now I can cast 2 resin goblin heads at a time and decorate them (very fun to decide what attributes they should have) and soon I'll have all 7 I need to make a dice set

I think I need a red pair next!

My fingers holding a chickpea-sized grey polymer clay goblin head. I sculpted it freehand and used metal nail art pearls for the eyes so they'd stay nice and round as I was working The goblin has a beak-like nose, large pointy ears, two tusks that come up out of its lower lip, and an angry expression
Making a mold, the goblin is hot glued to a bead in a plastic shot glass, and clear silicone is being poured over the top to form a very detailed mold with a resin reservoir formed by the bead at the top once it's turned upside down The reservoir means that once any bubbles work their way out of the goblin head, the space can be filled with the extra resin and there won't be any voids
A dark blue resin goblin head cast from the mold, temporarily hot glued to a popsicle stick as a handle so I don't get paint on my fingers It's been drybrushed in lighter blue with off white eyeballs and tusks. I just added a tiny gold pearl to one ear as an earring
Four goblin heads I've made so far: Leaf green with some model grass as spiky hair Lime green with a copper hoop earring Slate blue with the gold pearl earring from the last picture, also one tusk isn't white, it's gold And powder blue with silver wire-rimmed glasses
