Good market regulation isn't always about regulating large corporations.... for individuals, its often about locally procured goods & services.
The cost of substandard goods & services costs UK consumers over £70bn a year, with (unsurprisingly) the largest area being home & garden maintenance (the preserve of cowboys & con artists).
But, Trading Standards is the preserve of local government that has cut back legal enforcement & oversight due to its ongoing budgetary crisis.
