Small success of the day: this lace pattern book came back to me with shattered binding plastic. I was going to go to Staples and replace that, when I realized that I own copious amounts of thread.
I have now buttonhole stitched the binding, saving money and plastic. And I like it better.
What a cool book. It has a bunch of these stretched out grids that all look futuristic and neat.

I was looking for something else entirely and found this longer piece of it in the V&A. In a couple of places it has 3 pink buds, which is curious too.
I remain enchanted with this one. I wish I knew more about where it came from. I'm so glad it survived.

Oh, how neat. I have loved this piece colorful lace since I first saw it in the Art Institute of Chicago. It's not a style that I make, but I aspire to it. Unlike most of the laces in this period, it's got so much color.
I have wanted to reproduce it.

i started a cute red cat today at bobbin lace class.

I drew my first bobbin lace pattern in a cafe with 35°c and my brain turned into jelly. #BobbinLace
tried to recreate the lace but it turned out really messy. I also accidently pulled the middle threads which made it even worse. urgh. I tried finding ressourced but there was none. Is anyone able to help? I used 3x threads and wove one in and out of the other two while pinning the edges (kind of like bobbin lace without bobbins)
