After contemplating for a while I decided to join @liminalfiction as an author.

What won me over is that a couple of authors I know from the #WritingCommunity here like @crcollins and @youseeatortoise are there as well. Also, which place doesn't get immediately better when @clacksee is around?

And they have a really cool search option where you can search by tags, something I really miss in online bookstores.

Took me a while to tag #HeraldPetrel and now I have so many ideas... So far I haven't found a way to include a ferocious poodle in one of my stories but that might be a new challenge...

Can't put up a new chapter on AO3 today, though, apologies. I'm hoping for tomorrow sometime.

I've had a fascinating new idea for my Penumbra siblings that I'll explore some more before implementing it. Definitely going to be a shock to them.

It's so much fun to make the words flow. Being a writer is just wonderful.

Early bedtime, didn't get a lot of sleep last night. Rode out a few panic attacks.

Even so, today was a good day. I wrote 2k+ words for the Wolves, something that hasn't happened in way too long. Now I just need to write the epilogue and I'm done.

Definitely need to commission the cover.

Survived the office, got groceries, played some Valheim (Red Twink did something stupid and died).

Feeling surprisingly good. (Power of Denial.)

A fairly good day (marred a bit by a nasty review for one of my books), with nice writing, reading and a bit of Valheim.

Managed 800 words for the Wolves, which is good progress. Showdown is coming closer!

Valheim had a major update, which meant redecorating my kitchen a little. Otherwise I'm not much affected.

Did some chores, chatted with an online friend and will curl up with a book next.

#WritersCoffeeClub 10/9. What motivates you to keep going when sales are low?

That question hits hard.

I find it difficult to stay motivated when sales are low or dry up. There are two things that keep me going:

The few readers I have are wonderful people. Several are online friends, and I keep writing for them.

Then there's the characters. They just won't let me give up on them, they nag, they wheedle, they send me inspiration.

And thus I write on.

No writing today. Woke up with a headache and brain fog (probably histamine related).

Played Valheim with Twink #2, which is easy right now. Needed easy, the others are struggling with the Mistlands.

Met a friend for coffee in the afternoon and we chatted for almost two hours. Got groceries in my way home, then had a Zoom meeting with another friend.

Brain was officially fried. I'm off to read a bit and get an early bedtime.

I generally drink a lot of tea, so I do that for writing as well.

On the other hand, I try not to eat much when I write - my fingers belong on the keyboard then.

Busy day.

Ran my Mastermind and chatted with my friend about Amazon Ads, her historical fiction series and my tweaks to increase read-through for my Wolf books.

I grabbed ad data and took a good look at it. Still searching for books to describe my Winds & Pillars with.

Read a new romance by one of my favorite authors. Cooked a meal. Talked to my Dad on the phone.

Finally wrote 650 words for the Wolves. YAY!

No Valheim...

Slow day, lots of reading, lots of gaming. Met our janitor on my way back from getting groceries, and we had a nice chat. He even fixed something for me.

Friend had time to play Valheim with me, and we explored in the Mistlands and found our first Black Marble. Killed a couple of Seekers.

Also took out a Fuling village with several Berserkers, one of them a 2*-one.

And Twink #2 built a tall bridge. That was fun, too.

#WritersCoffeeClub 9/26: Did you come to writing from an avenue other than reading?

Maybe a little... the final nudge to actually write my own stories was through my role-playing group back then. I'm a miserable DM, but I believe I'm a good story-teller.

And so I sat down to write out the story to a dramatic scene I had in mind - and it sort of spiraled out of control from that. (I say that with 34 published books almost 25 years later.)
