This furry VN I'm reading...
I've only read one of the characters' storylines and I'm already willing to say it's the best furry VN I've read in my life.
spoilers? triggering terms
Holy fuck, this furry VN is way more intense than I was expecting. It's certainly not for the faint of heart, it touches some messed up topics like physical/emotional abuse, psychological trauma, obsession, depression, homophobia, fatphobia, self-hatred, hard drugs, death/murder, torture, actually fucking scary paranormal stuff.
It is definitely psychological horror.
It's well written as fuck, and it's not really gory or explicit about these topics (which is the true mark of good horror stories).
On a more positive note, it's nice to see furry-specific worldbuilding being added seamlessly to the narrative.
With fur covering the cheeks, the way you'd notice someone blush is through the inside of the ears instead.
Ticks while walking in the wild/desert/forest/bushes would indeed be a major problem with fur, so it gets mentioned rather often.
On that matter, wounds would be difficult to spot too, as blood would dirty the fur around it before it could actually be seen.
Showers would need to come with an autodryer for all that fur to dry at a reasonable speed, too.
Sleeping with ears below the head would indeed cause pain/soreness the next morning.
And certain tails that are less flexible (like an otter's) would require swinging the body to be able to move it to the side effectively, making something like giving a silly tail slap clumsy or tail brushing impossible.
Well fuck. Read another storyline in one go.
I thought I was going to pass out with how much I held my breath this time. I got shivers through my whole body reading it, and the ending got me to feel like a knife twisting my heart. By the end of it my hands were trembling.
There's still three more storylines left… I think…
I finished reading Echo.
It is now my favorite furry visual novel of all time.

Someone made a music sheet for the second saddest song in the game: https://musescore.com/user/3855646/scores/6694057
And it's easy!
I need to learn to play this on my keyboard.
I managed to play the beginning. :>
It's a bit slow, but I already acquired the necessary muscle memory! I just need to practice to make it more fluid.
I was getting a couple of notes wrong in the last sample.
Now this uses the correct notes. And I repeated the first two measures instead of just playing them once, which was fairly challenging.
Also the clickety clack of my keyboard is kinda annoying.
In yet another stupor of past-midnight music inspiration I managed to learn a substantial part of the song!
The part that is most addicting to listen to!
I'll see if I can make a proper recording soon-ish!
This time the audio quality is slightly nicer (and louder), and the execution improved, but is still very noticeably amateurish.
I also had to cut a lot of silence between the two parts since I take a while to move my hands, so the middle feels a bit awkward.
I improvised a bit in the end, but it's still fundamentally the way the keys are pressed. I love that section and I can just endlessly play it.
I also found out that my keys get slightly more silent if I keep some cloth beneath my music keyboard.
My practicing has been paying off.
This sounds substantially better, doesn't it? No edits this time either.
Same song: Reckoning, from Echo.
