Oh wow, Rayman 2 has interesting feel. The graphics are low-poly chaotic wackiness in geometry while having actually artistic textures and yet controls fit as well, wacky animation feel yet easy
@foxysen the PS1 beat the N64 to market but I find that PS1 games tend to look better? Crash, MGS, Megaman Legends, Rayman... Even with the PS1's weird texture wobble.
@mdstevens0612 no idea, I am playing Rayman 2 on PC
@foxysen I mean besides a texture bump and a higher resolution it's not markedly different; Although I remember the GOG version having like, zero controller support, lol, I wonder if that got patched
@mdstevens0612 oh I am playing through big franchise fan patch of Rayman Control Panel
@mdstevens0612 plus I am a bit confused about PSX vs N64, since Rayman 2 was made for N64 first and PSX is cut down version
@foxysen@pawb.fun @mdstevens0612@mas.to Personally I think Rayman Revolution for the PS2 is the best version of Rayman 2.
@foxysen@pawb.fun @mdstevens0612@mas.to One weird thing about the PS2 version compared to the PC version is that the PS2 version actually has voice acting.
But they actually added an option to turn it off and have the iconic mumbling instead!
@foxysen I remember this, but yeah, most of Ubisoft Montpelier's games just looked good. Their other game, I think it was Tonic Trouble, is one of the best looking N64 games. Meant more on the whole than Rayman 2 specifically, graphically none of the versions of it are that visually different aside from a texture and resolution bump, content wise they are all somewhat different. Either NitroRad or AntDude had a breakdown on the differences I watched eons ago.
