She’s the perfect example of the “American Dream”. Her parents are immigrants, here originally to work in one of the meat packing plants. She got a high school and community college education and is a self-taught programmer. In one generation she’s a salaried professional programmer. She leads a team now.
If this country isn’t for her, then everything else in the immigration debate is just racism.
@DanMorgan I'm not sure what you think the immigration situation is OTHER than racism? That's been obvious for a decade, ever since Trump came down that escalator.
There was something else for long enough for this woman to grow up here and do this.
Always talking up how everything was always this bad is, among other things, dismissing the successes of people who showed us how good it was to be better.
@clew @DanMorgan Literally not talking about what this young woman has done with her life. Talking about government policies that are trying to interfere with what she's trying to do with her life. I don't understand how you can't see the difference. She's been alive long enough for these policies to be NEW in her life, so it has nothing to do with her. it's about how the government wants to treat her.
