(The teacher's role is to provide the right challenges.) </p><p>GenAI offers a poisonous shortcut. The student collates AI-generated texts and acts as their editor, without ever being author. She accumulates answers that aren't anchored in her own practice. the roamer<p>At my university, all lectures are recorded, as a "voice + screen" recording. During my lectures I also do lots of unscripted whiteboard writing and drawing, and this is not filmed.</p><p>I am asked to let my whiteboard work also be recorded, for better revision.</p><p>My answer: true learning requires a place for free &amp; authentic encounters with the material, a place that is not subjected to the rules of the "I can watch it later" mindset.
