1001 Other Albums<p>The Bloodywood album we have on The List was only very briefly touched on in a <a href="https://linernotes.club/tags/MontageMonday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MontageMonday</span></a> post a few weeks ago. So, today let's put the spotlight back on them and listen to their newest album, just released on Friday! Features a collab with BABYMETAL ("Bekhauf"), and also a fun song about cooking ("Tadka"). This band is an absolute delight.</p><p>Bloodywood - Nu Delhi (2025, India)</p><p><a href="https://bloodywood.bandcamp.com/album/nu-delhi" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">bloodywood.bandcamp.com/album/</span><span class="invisible">nu-delhi</span></a></p><p><a href="https://linernotes.club/tags/Bloodywood" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bloodywood</span></a> <a href="https://linernotes.club/tags/NuMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NuMetal</span></a> <a href="https://linernotes.club/tags/FolkMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FolkMetal</span></a> <a href="https://linernotes.club/tags/metal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>metal</span></a> <a href="https://linernotes.club/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://linernotes.club/tags/BabyMetal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BabyMetal</span></a></p>

Because, sometimes, you need a montage (montage!).[1]</p><p>And for no particular reason, this Montage Monday we’re going to spotlight albums spanning 30 years that have some anger issues – or, rather, address issues with very well-justified anger -, working backward in case doing so can turn back time. 1001 Other Albums<p>Because it’s been a while since we featured some metal from The List, our next spotlight is on number 788, submitted by <a rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="u-url mention" href="https://metalhead.club/@raisedfist" target="_blank">@<span>raisedfist</span></a>.</p><p>While Alien Weaponry technically formed in 2010, the fact that it took 8 years for them to release their debut album doesn’t seem so shocking when you find out the band members’ ages. Started by brothers Henry Te Reiwhati de Jong and Lewis Raharuhi de Jong when they were only 10 and 8 years old, this band starting making waves between 2014 and 2016 when they opened for a couple well-known Kiwi metal/rock bands, then won a couple of competitions, then received a couple of grants to record and produce a couple music videos, and then were named by <em>Metal Hammer </em>as one of New Zealand’s top 10 metal acts.</p><p>I’m fairly certain they first hit my radar with their music video for “Raupatu” (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrGHGwH2wlg" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Youtube</a>), one of the three singles off <em>Tū</em>. As with other songs on this album, some of the lyrics are in Māori (the de Jong brothers’s father and paternal grandmother are Māori, connected to the Ngāti Pikiao and Ngāti Raukawa tribes), and deal with historical events the Māori have experienced at the hands of the British invaders/colonialist government. Even if thrash/nu-metal isn’t your thing, the fact that this album was put out by high school students is impressive, and definitely worth a listen. </p><p>The band is still going strong – and it looks like they put on some great live shows – so check out their Youtube channel if you like what you hear.</p><ul><li><a href="https://alienweaponry.bandcamp.com/album/t-2" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bandcamp: Alien Weaponry – Tū</a></li><li><a href="https://www.discogs.com/master/1372971-Alien-Weaponry-T%C5%AB" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Discogs: Alien Weaponry – Tū</a></li><li><a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/alienweaponry" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Youtube: Alien Weaponry</a></li></ul><a class="" href="https://1001otheralbums.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/alienweaponryalbumcover.jpg?w=300" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[🖼 The album cover has art depicting a head in a horned metal helmet, the face tattooed, teeth bared, and eyes covered.
