And the documentation now has also changed, claiming they're owned by "ANEXIA" (sort for ANEXIA Internetdienstleistungs GmbH), which is based out of Austria, Europe.

Netcup uses Epag.de for domain registration, Netcup is only a domain reseller. Epag.de is part of Tucows which is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and incorporated in Pennsylvania, United States. That would mean, they fall under US-jurisdiction.

So you do NOT want to us Netcup to register your domain name!

As for hosting. The question is, do they have an American incorporation, or are they like OVH, and just reselling American services?!

When looking up ANEXIA Internetdienstleistungs GmbH, the parent company of, Netcup, it seems they own some of their data centered, while leasing others (See URL). But, unfortunately, this page has not been updated to include their USA location.

The answer is, I do not know. That means, I'll be removing them from my list. When in doubt, I don't suggest you use a service.

https://www.datacentermap.com/c/anexia-internetdienstleistungs-gmbh/

#Netcup
