Sean Randall<p>I don't understand the underlying technology sufficiently to explain this. Can anyone clarify?<br>I had a <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/MicroSD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MicroSD</span></a> <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/card" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>card</span></a> running on an MP3 player formatted as <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/FAT32" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FAT32</span></a>.<br>I was historically able to connect the player to my computer via USB and add files to the card.<br>Yesterday, <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a> reported the card needed formatting and refused to show me the files/folders on the card.<br>Interestingly, the MP3 player continued to be able to access data from the card (i.e. the remainder of the album I was listening to). Only after I'd asked the player to delete the files from the card did I see comparable behaviour across the platforms and now neither device recognises the card as valid.<br>The thing that confuses me is that the player still read the card even after multiple restarts. it only caches so much and there were multiple tracks remaining in the album, all of which were played flawlessly.<br>Does anyone understand why this could be?</p>

dunbrine47<p>I know I&#39;m late to the party but I&#39;m learning the quirks of <a href="https://pawb.fun/tags/android" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>android</span></a> and <a href="https://pawb.fun/tags/microsd" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>microsd</span></a> cards. <br />Side question. Why tf can&#39;t I put the <a href="https://pawb.fun/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>mastodon</span></a> app on my card? I know it&#39;s a tiny app for the most part but come on. <br />Also I did see the whole process about rooting the phone but eeh....only if I really have to.</p>
