chestas<p>Lovely beach walk today. Green's Beach is just 15 minutes from where I live. There are great rock pools when the tide is out, and great coastal walks along cliffside tracks. </p><p>Top spot for the day for me was a leathery sea slug sliding over some algae covered rocks. They are native to New Zealand but South East Australia gets them. chestas<p>In another fight against the huge amount of lawn we inherited with this house, I cut out a small square and planted a lemon bottlebrush. chestas<p>It doesn't get much more native than Wattle. The trees have been used in native Australian culture for about 50000 years. There are over 1000 species of wattle in Australia and other species in Asia, Africa and South America pointing to their ancient Gondwanaland heritage. </p><p>For most of us, the blast of yellow wattle flowers cheer up our winters. chestas<p>I nearly forgot fungi Friday. </p><p>A walk in woods today let me see a mass of fungi. Here's the best of the bunch, certainly photo wise.</p><p>Earthstars are always a joy to see as are corals, and both easy to spot. chestas<p>Dip Falls in north west Tasmania is my favourite waterfall. It is big, both in height and width. During winter it is a roaring cascade that is absolutely breathtaking.</p><p>There are two tiers. The top tier is bigger and slopes away from the hillside whereas the lower tier is almost vertical. It is a bit of a trek to get there, but the Dip Forest Reserve is a wonderful place to walk with massive Browntop Stringybark trees, moss covered ground cover and loads of interesting fungi.</p><p>Here's the falls in all their magnificence.
