It’s not that I felt particularly tired after 10’, but my arms and chest could not do more than that. I sure feel them this morning and I know I am going to be sore af. Existential Dread Cat<p>First workout of 2025 completed.</p><p>Did a 45 min ride class on Peloton. It was about to start when I went to the bike and I said, sure, why not?</p><p>Sometimes I appreciate the live classes on Peloton because they take away the inertia of “what am I going to do today”, like today. Class was there, click button, receive workout. While I do find the workout structure on Apple Fitness for running and cycling better, this feature is really something. I do tons of live classes because they motivate me.</p><p>Anyway, the class itself was great. Peloton usually has the best music. Existential Dread Cat<p>So, today I finished Rebecca’s 4 Day Split on Peloton.</p><p>The last day is a 45min Full Body class and I am not ashamed to say I couldn’t finish many sets. There is a lot of work to be done, but I have established a baseline and will revisit this. It is a very challenging class.</p><p>I was not in my best mood before class but the fact that I did something hard made me feel good about myself. I cannot emphasize the power of lifting heavy shit for mental health. You sad? Lift heavy shit. Someone is being a dick to you? They’re still a dick, but if you lift heavy shit at least I assure you will feel better, and they’re still a dick. Money problems? Again - lift heavy shit, money won’t come, but at least you can scream and imagine yourself destroying Fort Knox or something. Channel your inner Hulk. Feels good.</p><p>Anyway, enough of my rant. I feel better now. I still have problems, but I care less about them. I’m the Cat Hulk. Existential Dread Cat<p>I was mentally drained but dragged myself to my underground gym and did a very good job:</p><p>- PR on my usual 10k indoor cycling route as a warmup<br>- 30’ Strength - Rebecca’s 4-Day Split 2/4: Glutes and Legs on Peloton </p><p>Let’s talk about the G&amp;L class because it’s supposedly an intermediate class and I simply could not do the last set. My legs were shaking and I COULD NOT. I decided that I would just do some crunches instead and that was it. One of the heaviest classes I have found on Peloton so far and I do not skip leg day. Marc Thomas<p>Made some upgrades to the home gym this weekend. </p><p>Plate tree for the weights to conserve space. </p><p>Tv mounted on a rollable tv stand and the corner reorganized for cycling. </p><p>Cycling corner is not functional yet, but it’s moving in that direction. Existential Dread Cat<p>Question for those who do <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/strength" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>strength</span></a> workouts </p><p>I have been doing squats with 30lbs / 13.5kg and that is not enough anymore.</p><p>I have a 40lb / 18kg kettlebell but while my legs can deal with that, my arms are not strong enough to handle the kettlebell for the length of the squat routine.</p><p>What would be a good idea here? Two 20lbs/ 9kg dumbbells?
