Guess who's baaaaccckkkkk
Animal embroidery kits from Kiriki Press are finally restocked! These little guys make the long trek all the way from Canada, so once they’re gone, we can’t say when they’ll return. They sold out quickly last time, so adopt your critter now: https://colossal.shop/collections/embroidery-kits

This is an old one-of-a-kind plushie and it’s still looking for a home! I made it for an art “challenge” called the birbfest. I love way the embroidery compliments the movement of the bird on this one!

Q1: i'm Jo, a jobbing hacker by day and art experimenter by, well by day too really
this week's project was a work of Craft Forgery? it's a piece of traditional #embroidery of Siwa Oasis requested by my mum, to replace a faded panel in a window blind
blank fabric was from Siwa (imported there) and had the design mostly drawn on in pen. the thread i use came from there, too. was shown the patterns by a matriarch there. so is it really forgery?
I've finished my my leaves on the second piece! Still doing the second outline layer, and filling in the open areas.
The bugle beads will be super fast.
Starting to feel the pressure as I have a month to go and haven't really started the dress. I fit a muslin so I could fit these as pattern pieces, but it feels a million years ago.
Still debating on the belt. If If want to bead it or buy trim. Finding the right vintage belt buckle has been quite the adventure - most the ones I've found are either very expensive or silver rather than gold.
New #introduction post!
I'm Alicia and I'm a fibre artist (#dyeing #handspinning #felting #needlefelting #weaving #crochet #embroidery #upcycling #sewing) with interests in #mandala #art #psychedelicart #sacredgeometry #neurographicart and #watercolors.
My family and I run a business called @Fibre2Fabric where we dye all sorts of exotic #fibre #yarn, and #fabric.
I live in the country with my partner and our 6 #cats, 3 #dogs, #snake and #crestedgecko where I enjoy my many interests. (#gardening #plants #herbalism #fungi #music #ukulele #piano #dancing #flowart #reading #writing #tarot #poetry #haiku #cozygames and I'm getting more into #opensource / #linux)
When I say flow art, I mean spinning props like #hulahoop #leviwand #puppyhammer #poi #staff #silkfans #firefans etc.
I love #languagelearning. I studied #German and #Spanish as a kid, took #Japanese in uni, and I'm currently studying #ASL #Cree #Tokipona #Spanish and #Chinese. I also dabble in #French and #Latin sometimes and I'm learning #Greggshorthand to write faster. Cree is my favourite language and Spanish is my second.
I've been cursed since childhood with that lovely trifecta of #heds #pots and #mcas. Healing slowly but surely.
Hope I get to meet even more cool people the algorithms would normally drown out on other social media sites. I love it here!
Possibly NSFW embroidery
#WIPWednesday • This #embroidery is tricky to take photos of while I’m stitching black on black. There’s also the question of whether pubic hair is NSFW or not
The photos from the photographer have arrived! I love this one. With the lovely texture of the rocks behind it, you’d think I live in the mountains - nope! Just the remains of the old city wall of #Groningen
Lichtpuntje – a spark of light, a glimmer of hope. A gift for someone who needs a tangible reminder of hope.

Is it cake? Not quite.
Made with embroidery and polymer clay, Heather Rios's layered slices are deliciously deceptive.

The whale pouch is one of my most popular design! It’s also really practical to store little items for safe keeping and fast access!
Sadly, as much as I love making pouches, they take me a lot of time and energy, so I don’t really make them anymore.
I have three whales left in stock, and you can grab one on my website! https://evanskyarts.com/products/bourse-baleine
I finally took a proper photo of my summer-themed mitosis sampler (2024). I’m writing a pattern for this one in four season colourways so watch for that in a few months!
For #BrainAwarenessWeek I’m sharing my brainiest #SciArt #embroidery pieces. Here’s woman in skull (2016), not a brain per se, but the part of the skull where the brain sits, imagined as an architectural space.
